More than a tribute
Great songs never go out of style
Shaun Johnson grew up in small-town Iowa, hooked on music with swing, soul and an easy kind of cool. Best known as the frontman of the vocal group Tonic Sol-fa, he has since played more than 4,000 shows around the world, and The Book of Bublé is his love letter to the songs that made Michael Bublé a household name.
This isn’t a carbon copy. Shaun fronts a seven-piece band with a full brass section, playing new arrangements by Dean Sorenson, whose credits include the Glenn Miller Orchestra and the U.S. Air Force Band. Expect “Haven’t Met You Yet,” “Everything,” “Cry Me a River” and “Feeling Good,” with plenty of Sinatra-style swagger in between.
Between songs there are stories and laughs, and the whole night is built to fill the room. Bring a date, bring your parents, bring the friend who knows every word — it’s two sets of feel-good swing on a Saturday night in downtown West Bend.
