The WhiskeyBelles are Milwaukee’s own gin-hall trio — Hank Williams passion, Carter Family harmony, and a little Hee Haw mixed in for good measure. This December, they bring their holiday show back to The Bend Theater: original songs from their Christmas record alongside their own spin on the seasonal standards, all played with the same close three-part harmony and hot fiddle that’s made them a Wisconsin favorite for over a decade.
Who’s on Stage
Chrissy Dzioba plays guitar and sings lead and harmony. Sara Moilanen anchors the low end on bass, and Kimberly “Kimmy” Unger carries the fiddle lines that give the band its signature lift. Together they trade vintage country, folk-revival, and roots-country covers with sharp, witty originals of their own — a sound that’s drawn comparisons to the Pistol Annies, the Dixie Chicks, and Trio (Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris & Linda Ronstadt).
Along the way, they’ve sung the national anthem at Lambeau Field, held down a regular Summerfest slot, and opened for the likes of Charlie Daniels and the Kentucky Headhunters.
