A Christmas Story (1983 PG)
December 20th – 2PM
A Christmas Story is a beloved holiday comedy set in 1940s Indiana that follows young Ralphie Parker as he eagerly counts down the days until Christmas. More than anything, Ralphie wants a Red Ryder Carbine Action 200-shot Range Model air rifle, but everyone he tells warns him that he’ll “shoot his eye out.” Determined to convince his parents and Santa Claus that the gift is perfect for him, Ralphie navigates the ups and downs of childhood, including schoolyard bullies, embarrassing family moments, and the challenges of growing up.
Throughout the film, Ralphie’s holiday adventures are filled with hilarious and heartwarming moments, from his father’s obsession with a prize-winning leg lamp to his mother’s efforts to keep the household running smoothly. As Christmas morning finally arrives, Ralphie discovers that the holiday rarely goes exactly as planned, but the memories made along the way are what truly matter. With its nostalgic setting, unforgettable characters, and relatable family humor, A Christmas Story has become a holiday classic that captures the excitement, anticipation, and occasional chaos of Christmas through the eyes of a child.
