DESCRIPTION:The son of a small town farming community\, Cody Diekhoff logged plenty of highway and stage time under the name Chicago Farmer before settling in the city in 2003. Profoundly inspired by fellow midwesterner John Prine\, he’s a working-class folk musician to his core. His small town roots\, tilled with city streets mentality\, are turning heads North and South of I-80. \n“I love the energy\, music\, and creativity of Chicago\, but at the same time\, the roots and hard work of my small town\,” he shares. Growing up in Delavan\, Illinois\, with a population less than 2\,000\, Diekhoff’s grandparents were farmers\, and their values have always provided the baseline of his songs. \nChristopher Gold \nChristopher Gold is a Kentucky-born songwriter living in Wisconsin. Together with his band The New Old Things he has written and recorded folk songs\, country songs\, rock & roll songs\, and everything in between citing a love for songwriters like Townes Van Zandt\, Bob Dylan\, Tom Petty\, John Prine\, and anybody else whose work begins with paper and pen. When Fred Bliffert heard his first lullaby\, he instinctively knew it wasn’t music if it didn’t have a soul. Many of Fred’s early music influences had gospel roots – Sam Cooke\, Curtis Mayfield\, Aretha Franklin\, Otis Redding\, and Marvin Gaye. Yet\, he always rocks the room like a heavy metal idol\, drops R&B that would get James Brown’s attention\, and croons a ballad that makes the audience forget Frank Sinatra.  His three great gifts are a connection to the music\, a voice that glorifies that connection\, and his overwhelming sense of joy. \nThe duo will be accompanied by the incredible Chris Hanson Band. The band\, more than any other\, brought together Jazz\, Rock\, and R&B sensibilities to form a whole new kind of pop music featuring sophisticated jazz voicing and an army of the best studio musicians to play them. These are the songs that we associate with the warm summer of 1978\, our first kiss\, and those ski trips out to Colorado. \nWinner of multiple awards for best tribute band\, Steely Dane is dedicated to not only faithfully reproducing the Steely Dan and Donald Fagen songbook\, but to bringing an energetic live-show experience to the crowd. The group adopted its current name after Ms. Gutekunst\, a founder\,  sadly passed away in 2010. Members feel her name\, which means “Good Art” in German\, is a fitting tribute to the talented musician and friend they lost.
