SUMMARY:Dustbowl Revival
DESCRIPTION:Dustbowl Revival is a testament to building a fanbase and their own sound the old-fashioned way\, with hard work and deeply moving songs that stick to your bones when you leave the concert. There’s a reason they continue to get written up in Rolling Stone and Billboard and get played on AAA radio 16 years after they set sail. \nAfter releasing seven acclaimed albums starting in 2008\, including their beloved live record With A Lampshade On (2015) recorded mostly at their LA homebase the famed Troubadour\, and their charting self-titled record (2017) produced by Grammy-winner Ted Hutt (Flogging Molly\, Old Crow Medicine Show)\, perhaps their magnum opus is 2020’s deeply personal Is It You\, Is It Me – produced by Sam Kassirer (Lake Street Dive\, Josh Ritter). It showcases their penchant for orchestral brass and intricate string work with politically-charged story-songs that unfold like mini-movies. It’s not surprising that Z. Lupetin was an award-winning playwright and moved to LA from Chicago to be a screenwriter before music took the reins. “Get Rid Of You”\, an ode to the courageous kids in Parkland\, FL who stood up to demand common-sense control laws be passed is a heart-wrenching staple of each show and “Get Right” – a new stomp blues that will be a part of their upcoming 2025 record\, confronts the vigilante justice that exists throughout our country head on. Their newest single “The Truth” dares to take on the overturning of Roe V. DESCRIPTION:U.S. Navy Naval Aviator Lieutenant Pete “Maverick” Mitchell and his Radar Intercept Officer (RIO) Lieutenant Junior Grade Nick “Goose” Bradshaw\, stationed in the Indian Ocean aboard USS Enterprise\, fly the F-14A Tomcat. During an interception with two hostile MiG-28s\, Maverick missile-locks on one\, while the other hostile locks onto Maverick’s wingman\, Cougar. Maverick drives it off\, but Cougar is so shaken that Maverick\, despite being low on fuel\, defies orders to land first\, so he can shepherd him back to the carrier. As a result\, Cougar resigns his commission\, and loses his opportunity to attend Top Gun\, the Naval Fighter Weapons School at Naval Air Station Miramar. Maverick and Goose are sent in his place by CAG “Stinger\,” but not without getting a reprimand for disobeying the landing order.

Nick Fury\, director of the covert agency S.H.I.E.L.D.\, arrives at a remote research facility where astrophysicist Dr. Erik Selvig is leading a team studying the Tesseract. It suddenly activates and opens a portal\, allowing Loki to reach Earth. Loki steals the Tesseract and uses his scepter to enslave Selvig and other agents\, including Clint Barton\, to aid him.

SUMMARY:Justice League (2017 PG13)
DESCRIPTION:Steppenwolf and his legions of Parademons attempt to take over the Earth using the combined energies of the three Mother Boxes. The attempt is foiled by a unified alliance including the Olympian Gods\, Amazons\, Atlanteans\, humanity\, and extraterrestrial beings. The Mother Boxes are separated and hidden in different locations. Thousands of years later\, Superman’s death following the battle with Doomsday reactivates the Boxes\, attracting Steppenwolf again to Earth. He aims to gather the Boxes to form “The Unity”\, which would instantly devastate Earth and terraform it into a copy of his homeworld. \nSteppenwolf retrieves one Mother Box from Themyscira\, prompting Queen Hippolyta to warn her daughter Diana. Diana joins Bruce Wayne in an attempt to unite other metahumans to their cause: Wayne goes after Arthur Curry and Barry Allen\, while Diana locates Victor Stone. Bruce fails to persuade Arthur but finds Barry enthusiastic. Victor joins after his father Silas and other S.T.A.R. Labs employees are kidnapped by Steppenwolf\, who is seeking the Mother Box protected by humanity.

Writing and rehearsing\, eventually landing their first gig at The Unicorn\, a legendary Milwaukee rock club. \nThe band’s early years of filling clubs\, then theaters and large festivals around the Midwest\, in combination with recording a handful of indie albums made significant waves on college radio\, eventually leading The Gufs to sign a major label recording contract with Atlantic Records in the mid 90s. \nThis September\, Goran and Morgan bring a duo set to The Bend Theater for one fantastic night of music!
