The hip Milwaukee quintet is known for its strong brew of tough\, original blues and hard-hitting live shows. Blues Blast raves that barrel-chested front man Jeff Taylor possesses a “smooth\, warm-toned voice as monumental and undeniable as Howlin’ Wolf with the finish and flourish of B.B. King.” Downbeat declares stealth guitarist Jeff Schroedl “reaches the high bar of mixed invention and fluidity.” Fueled by a rhythm section laying down the deepest grooves this side of the MGs\, the five blues blasters hit the ground running 20 years ago and show no sign of easing up. Their sixth studio album\, Holler If You Hear Me\, debuted at #3 on the Billboard Blues Chart and received three Blues Music Award nominations\, including Album of the Year and Song of the Year. \n​The muscular yet limber rhythm section of bassist Mark Solveson and drummer Alan Arber lock into the full range of blues grooves from classic slow Chicago drag (“Holding on With One Hand”) and romping Texas shuffles (“Mint Condition”) to soulful R&B worthy of Stax Records (“Gonna Lose My Lady”). The name “High Bank Boys” comes from the body of water flowing through the bands home territory in Deep River\, Iowa. The Deep River passes through the town of the same name\, but the shallow stream wasn’t named for its actual depth\, but rather the “High Banks” that contain the river in the town and surrounding area. Known for having their practices in and around the community\, the “High Bank Boys” became the perfect name for the sensational group of men that was founded there. \nWhile shows performed by Tyler Richton and the High Bank Boys are youthful and lively\, the four members of the High Bank Boys have more than 50 years of experience playing live music combined. With this kind of dedication and devotion to country music\, it’s no wonder that the High Bank Boys have become the premier country band in the area. Known for being an excellent dance band as well as making the crowd feel like “one of the guys” when there’s no dance floor available\, the High Bank Boys are at home playing in almost any kind of venue or event. \nTheir most rewarding experiences\, however\, are the looks of satisfaction on the faces of their fans during and after another great show. DESCRIPTION:Back by Popular Demand: The Bend welcomes Them Coulee Boys back to our historic stage!\nThem Coulee Boys craft a brand of Americana that blends folk\, punk\, bluegrass\, and rock & roll. They sing their conversational songs in 4 part harmony\, often with a banjo stomp and rhythm section punch that drives the audience onto the dance floor and into community. Their trusty van has propelled them thousands of miles across the country and into the hearts of strangers\, who tend to leave each show as family. \nThe story is true. Soren Staff and Beau Janke met as counselors at a bible camp in northern Wisconsin in 2011. Having both grown up amidst a stretch of glacial melt-carved river valleys in the upper Midwest (called coulees by French fur trappers)\, they were fast friends. At camp\, another counselor took to teasing them saying “them coulee boys are at it again.” The name stuck. Spending their weeks playing songs with kids around a campfire led to weekends figuring out an Avett Brothers tune or classic country song.  In 2013\, they added Soren’s brother Jens on mandolin\, and a rough-around-the-edges\, stomping 3-piece folk band played their first show as Them Coulee Boys.
