An emotion-filled musical stream of consciousness with no setlist\, minimal structure\, and intuitive improvisational flow. In this way\, they summon the energy of the crowd as their guide in linking just the right music to precise moments in time. \nGrateful Dead Hour host David Gans proclaimed\, “One of the things I love about the Rumpke Mountain Boys is that there’s a fundamental honesty in their presentation. This is something they share with my other heroes\, Donna the Buffalo and the Grateful Dead. They don’t make setlists ahead of time\, they don’t rehearse their songs to a fare-thee-well– they perform in real-time. All four of them write\, which is very important\, and they draw songs from a tremendous variety of sources… being a musician is a life-long learning experience if you’re doing it right\, and they are.” \nLike playing around a campfire\, the Boys take turns calling the next tune\, distilling shows from a sea of infinite notes created from years of jamming. Drawing upon a growing catalog of originals and an eclectic mix of covers\, the Rumpke Mountain Boys blend music like a fine Irish whiskey– the result affectionately dubbed Trashgrass. The Boys titled their 2012 album release with the same name\, followed by their 2013 release\, Moon\, which was recorded at the famed Royal Studios in Memphis. 2016’s High Time\, Low Tide marks the release of their 4th self-produced album. \n2016 was outstanding for the string quartet. The Boys broke new ground throughout the country including Colorado\, California\, Oregon\, and the Southeast. Finishing up the year with two stellar highlights\, their own Snuggleween and the Rumpke Mountain Boys New Years Eve Ball in their hometown of Cincinnati. \nThe guys released a live album “In Good Company” in November 2018. The album was recorded live over 2 nights at the Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland\, OH. They continue to pave the way in the jamgrass scene today with their unique trashgrass style. DESCRIPTION:Join us for our Date Night Game Night series at The Bend Theater!!\nRachel Mac and Devin Blake\, two married comedians living in Jackson\, WI.\, will open the evening with a joint stand-up set discussing their marriage and parenting. Then it’s time to introduce the Date Night Game Night couples! Rachel and Devin will bring 4 competing couples onstage for a brief interview. Once the couples have been introduced\, the competition begins! \nEach couple will answer questions about their spouse while their other half is off stage (out of hearing range). Rachel and Devin will go over each question\, one by one. They will start by bringing out each wife and go over their answers to a question like “Who is your celebrity crush?” Each wife will give their answer. Then their husbands return to the stage and guess what their wife’s answer was. If their answers match their spouses\, that couple gets a point. After a series of these questions\, Rachel and Devin will take a break to talk to the audience and ask them which couple they think is going to win and why. Then the couples will return for the second round of the game. The roles will be reversed. The winning couple will not only receive a fabulous prize\, but will also have bragging rights for years to come! \nRachel Mac is a writer and comedian who has appeared on Comedy Central’s Lights Out With David Spade and who has written for SyFy’s The Movie Show. After growing up in Wisconsin\, she spent almost a decade in Los Angeles\, where her comedy career began. \nDevin Blake is a standup comedian who also contributes to The Onion and New York Magazine. DESCRIPTION:Chicken Wire Empire returns to The Bend Theater\nBorn from the Wisconsin jamband scene\, Chicken Wire Empire began as a traditional bluegrass band. The band honed its traditional sound in 2014 with their debut album Chicken Wire Empire. With half of the group rooted in bluegrass\, and the other half steeped in jamband music\, a change occurred when CWE performed an Old & In The Way tribute show. A new sound was found in Milwaukee\, and Chicken Wire Empire joined the roster of high energy jamgrass happening across the nation.  This journey from traditional to progressive was documented by director Ross Monagle in the film ”All It Takes\,” premiering in 2016 at the Oriental Theatre in Milwaukee. Recorded and mixed by sound engineer Sam Donoghue\, the film follows the band around Wisconsin and includes performances in Milwaukee’s historic Riverside Theatre.  In 2018\, the band returned to the studio\, recording their sophomore album “What Moves Mountains” at Axis Recording Studios with engineer Vinny Millevolte and the mastering talents of Justin Perkins. With support from their family and friends\, What Moves Mountains was released January 1st of 2019. \nIn 2020\, as live shows were drying up\, the band turned to live-streaming\, and were featured showcase artists in virtual renditions of the IBMA and Folk Alliance International conferences. The band used their time to arrange and record an album with Minnesota songsmith Chris Castino (The Big Wu) at NeonBrown with Ryan Young (Trampled by Turtles) engineering. The album features guests Peter Rowan\, Sam Bush\, Jerry Douglas\, Andy Hall\, Tim O’Brien\, and Nick Forester. Ade was a Top 24 Contestant on NBC’s “The Voice”\, where she had the rare opportunity to work with 3 different coaches\, including; John Legend\, Kelly Clarkson\, and Adam Levine.
