SUMMARY:Chicken Wire Empire 2025
DESCRIPTION:Chicken Wire Empire returns to The Bend Theater for another highly-anticipated performance.\nSponsored by Westbury Bank \nFormed in Wisconsin\, Chicken Wire Empire has emerged as a pioneering force in the Upper Midwest contemporary bluegrass scene. Fusing traditional roots with innovative genre-blending elements\, the band has captivated audiences worldwide with their unique musicality and electrifying performances. \nIn 2023\, Chicken Wire Empire reached new heights with a showcase at the prestigious Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival.  It was an honor to perform 4 sets through rain and mud.  This came on the heels of their diverse creative ventures\, including “Verry Garcia\,” a Grateful Dead tribute\, and a distinctive rendition of The Smashing Pumpkins’ “Disarm.” These projects showcased their ability to seamlessly blend genres\, demonstrating a musical depth that resonates with both young and old fans of bluegrass. \nCWE’s sophomore studio endeavor\, “What Moves Mountains\,” received widespread praise upon its release\, and marks the band’s evolution.  This musical journey was artfully captured in the documentary “All It Takes.”  Directed by Ross Monagle\, the film showcased their travels across Wisconsin. \nHundreds of FREE parking spots and great restaurants lining Main Street and surrounding area! SUMMARY:Trippin Billies – The Dave Matthews Tribute Band - Jan 2
DESCRIPTION:Born in the pubs on the north side of Chicago\, Trippin’ Billies took to the “stages” of small rooms in the mid-nineties as an acoustic duo. It wasn’t long before lines grew too long for the small bars and calls started coming in from around the Midwest. As a result\, the band was forced to rise to the occasion\, and for over twenty years… they’ve done just that. \nTrippin’ Billies is comprised of some of Chicago’s absolute best musicians. They go far above and beyond the call of the average tribute band. Each band member’s love and respect for DMB\, their impact\, and for high-energy performance has moved them above the “bar band” circuit and into full-blown concert settings. Whether it’s a club in Iowa City\, a hockey arena in North Dakota\, or a summer festival in Rochester\, New York or Lincoln\, Nebraska\, this band puts on a show that even a casual or non-fan of DMB can revel in. \nThe TBs tour schedule has come to resemble that of the Dave Matthews Band before their ascension to arena tours. Midsize venues sell out consistently across the country\, and the famous theatres whose names were once inked on the cover of DMB bootlegs listened to by the band now comprise the tour schedule of Trippin’ Billies. The theatres they once approached with awe have now come to feel like home. \nTrippin’ Billies is grateful to the fans\, intuitive agents\, and to Dave himself for helping to draw attention to their efforts in national publications. Hopefully they’ll see you out on the road. \nPlease note all ticket sales are final.

SUMMARY:Groundhog Day (1993-PG)
DESCRIPTION:FEATURE POP-UP MOVIE!\n(No pun intended…) \nPhil Connor\, an arrogant and selfish television weatherman is assigned his fourth year of covering the Groundhog Day festivities in Punxsutawney\, Pennsylvania\, where he becomes trapped in a time loop. He must re-live Groundhog Day\, February 2\, day after day after day. No matter what he does\, when he wakes up the next morning\, it’s as if yesterday never happened. Except that he remembers that day and all the ones before it\, but he’s the only one who does. Since there is no tomorrow\, there are no consequences. If Phil eats too much\, drinks too much\, robs an armored car\, or jumps off a tall building\, the next morning dawns as if none of that had happened. He can also learn what women admire and use that knowledge to seduce them on the next day. \nInitially\, Phil indulges all his appetites\, but then he becomes bored and despondent. Not even suicide is a release. Finally\, resigned to his fate\, Phil discovers that he likes to play the piano and that there is satisfaction in helping people. He finds that his producer\, a young woman for whom he only had contempt\, is the sweetest person he has ever met. He falls in love with her and to his surprise finds himself released.

Their collective talent and chemistry on stage make them more than just a cover band—they embody the true essence of Petty’s sound. \nGeoff Landon – Lead Vocals\nFrontman and four-time WAMI Award winner Geoff Landon brings Tom Petty’s unmistakable vocal style to life with incredible accuracy. Known for his dynamic stage presence and powerful voice\, Landon has been captivating audiences for years as a solo artist and fronting various bands across the Midwest. His love for Tom Petty’s music runs deep\, and his dedication to replicating Petty’s laid-back yet commanding vocal delivery is the driving force behind Petty Things’ success. Geoff’s natural charisma and stage energy make him the perfect fit for this tribute\, ensuring that every performance is filled with the passion that Petty himself exuded. In addition to Petty Things\, he can currently be found playing across Wisconsin with Geoff Landon’s High Country and Still Reckless. \nPat Stillman – Lead Guitar\nPat Stillman delivers the signature guitar riffs and solos that Mike Campbell made famous with The Heartbreakers. As the lead guitarist for Petty Things\, Stillman masterfully replicates Campbell’s understated yet iconic style. A veteran of the Wisconsin music scene\, Stillman’s playing is both soulful and electrifying\, giving fans the unmistakable sound of Petty’s catalog\, from “American Girl” to “Runnin’ Down a Dream.” Stillman’s dedication to capturing Campbell’s unique blend of rock and blues shines through in every performance. When not in Petty Things\, he can be found playing jazz (The Swingin’ Royals)\, soul (Minor Worries)\, and funk (FBI and the Untouchable Horns) every week across Wisconsin. \nChris Okkerse – Bass Guitar\nHolding down the low end is Chris Okkerse\, a versatile musician who flawlessly channels the groove and backing vocals of Heartbreakers’ bassist Howie Epstein (Epstein himself was a Wisconsin native). Whether it’s the driving pulse of “You Wreck Me” or the subtle groove of “Don’t Do Me Like That”\, Okkerse delivers the steady\, reliable bass lines that Petty’s music demands. A veteran keyboardist\, Michaels skillfully replicates the rich\, multi-dimensional soundscapes that made The Heartbreakers’ music so timeless. Outside of Petty Things\, Terry can be found playing keys with his original prog rock band\, Lyndenthal. \nErik Holmes – Drums\nErik Holmes drives the rhythm section with precision and energy\, expertly recreating the drumming style of Stan Lynch and Steve Ferrone. Holmes’ ability to switch seamlessly between the tight\, punchy beats of Petty’s rock anthems and the more subtle\, nuanced grooves of their ballads makes him an integral part of Petty Things. Erik is a sought after drum instructor and can also be found playing drums with Geoff Landon’s High Country. \nWith Special Guest BD Greer as Stevie Nicks\nAdding an extra layer of magic to Petty Things is BD Greer\, who brings the presence of Stevie Nicks to the stage\, performing hits like “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” with Geoff Landon\, as well as a few select Fleetwood Mac tunes. Greer’s background as one of Wisconsin’s most acclaimed jazz singers helps her beautifully capture Nicks’ signature raspy tone\, and her chemistry with Landon brings the spirit of their iconic collaboration to life. \nTogether\, Petty Things delivers an unforgettable live experience that pays homage to the legacy of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. The band brings passion\, authenticity\, and love for the music\, making each show a celebration of Petty’s enduring impact on rock and roll. \nPlease note all ticket sales are final.

SUMMARY:Armchair Boogie
DESCRIPTION:Armchair Boogie is bluegrass at full throttle\, infused with the energy of a jam band and the swagger of rock ‘n’ roll. Hailing from Madison\, WI\, this electrifying quartet blends jamgrass\, funk\, and country into a sound that’s as infectious as it is unexpected. Known for their tight harmonies\, blistering solos\, and dance-fueled live shows\, they’ve quickly become one of the most exciting acts on the circuit. The Bluegrass Situation named them a “Must-See Roots Artist at Bourbon & Beyond\,” raving that their late-night set at the Earl Scruggs Music Festival was nothing short of a barn-burner. Mixing timeless originals with choice covers reimagined in their own style\, Armchair Boogie delivers a fresh take on every stage they hit.  \nWith Augie Dougherty on banjo\, Ben Majeska on acoustic and electric guitars\, and the locked-in rhythm section of Eli Frieders (electric bass) and Denzel Connor (drums)\, the band stretches the boundaries of bluegrass with fiery instrumentals and deep-pocket grooves. Their adventurous approach to the music keeps audiences on their feet and coming back for more. \nPlease note all ticket sales are final.
