A little bit of country\, a little bit of folk\, a little bit of classical\, and a whole lot of heart — your toes will tap of their own accord. \nMike Mangione Band: \nIn Mike’s own words: “For the past thirteen years I have been on the move.  I grew up in Chicago\, attended Marquette University and after graduation\, moved to Los Angeles to pursue something as a musician.  While there I recorded an album entitled There and Back.  A little while later I moved into my van with my dog\, played all the contiguous United States at night\, and then slept in parking lots and rest stops.  After a year and a half of that nonsense I moved back to Milwaukee and married my college sweetheart.” \nOver 18 years\, with two bands and eight releases\, Mangione’s music has evolved into a lush complexity that combines these foundational pillars with maturity and time. His songs\, rich with imagery\, poetry\, and mystery\, create a communion between artist and audience\, providing a “dwelling place” for listeners. DESCRIPTION:A WhiskeyBelles Christmas at The Bend Theater\n2024 WAMI’s Folk Artist of the Year \nRoots Country Music\, Born of Gin Halls and Juke Joints – Hank Williams passion\, Carter family harmonies\, with a little Hee Haw mixed in for good measure. The WhiskeyBelles are a traditional country and Americana trio based out of Milwaukee\, Wisconsin. The Belles are widely known for captivating shows featuring their own take on classic and obscure vintage-country\, Americana\, folk-revival and roots-country tunes\, with their own witty originals sprinkled in. They’ve been compared with the Pistol Annies\, Dixie Chicks and Trio (Dolly Parton\, Emmy Lou Harris & Linda Ronstadt). The ‘Belles have personalities as big as the Texan skyline – they have a great time on stage\, and love to share the fun with their audience. \nThe WhiskeyBelles Christmas show features unique arrangements to traditional holiday favorites as well as a plethora of originals from their Christmas album that showcases a holiday spirit infused into their repertoire. \nShow begins at 7:30pm.
